Faith test – Is the partner faithful?

Faith test – Is the partner faithful?

How faithful is your partner? – Faith test, yes or no?

If you love your partner you don’t want to lose him/her. After investing a lot of time and emotion into the relationship, a certain amount of appreciation is expected. If the relationship experiences occasional crises, it is likely that various relationship problems may develop, which should get both parties to do some thinking. The mere thought, that due to discontent or lack of love the partner may have turned to someone else, will drive us crazy. Often we will overreact in such situations and respond with jealousy and act along the lines: "Confidence is good, control is better".

This distrust will lead the insecure partner to carry out a loyalty test. The motive behind is to confirm the nagging suspicions or to gain assurance that the partner is faithful after all. A healthy doubt about the honesty of the beloved partner is quite normal and even necessary. It only becomes critical when one can no longer trust, or keeps checking on the partner without reason. If there are justified doubts, or if oneself is not in the position to interpret the partner’s behaviour and signs of betrayal and infidelity, then to put the rule to the test is recommended.

A loyalty test can either be carried out by oneself, or one engages a professional agency. Certain TV or radio broadcasts offer such faith test, however, mainly for general amusement. The method is to seduce the potentially cheating partner with the aid of a lure. The advantage of the allegedly deceived partner is that he/she doesn’t personally have to become active. Likewise this method doesn’t incur costs as it would if an agency were to be involved. However, it must be noted that the agency will carry out a thorough investigation and deliver reliable results.

Think about it very carefully, if you really want to „surprise“ your partner with a faith test. If this uncertainty is plaguing you, then go ahead and do it – above all before your behaviour intensifies the relationship problems even further. However, you should not carry out the test at random. First of all this faith test will demonstrate that you do not trust your partner. This will definitely cause considerable tension with the faithful partner. The unhealthy distrust causes problems which could have been avoided with more sensitivity and proper analysis of the facts.
